When your body feels better, so does your mind!

Stress and Anxiety are both normal feelings everyone has experienced. But when they interfere with your everyday life, it can become a problem.

When the body is stressed, neurotransmitters in the brain are released such as:

These neurotransmitters signal your body into a ‘fight or flight’ response mode. This response can trigger poor concentration, lack of appetite and discomfort in unique ways.

Exercise and other physical activity produce endorphins, feel-good chemicals in the brain that act as natural painkillers, and also improve the ability to sleep, which in turn reduces stress.

Although the results from a single exercise are temporary, when implemented into your daily schedule, the effects can last much longer.

Scientists have found that regular participation in aerobic exercise has been shown to decrease overall levels of tension, elevate and stabilize mood, improve sleep, and improve self-esteem.

Don’t have enough time to exercise? Park further away from buildings, take the stairs, walk your dog, ride a bike to work, try to find loop holes in your busy schedule to get any bit of extra exercise in, it all adds up!

By incorporating even a brisk 20-minute walk into your daily routine you can significantly reduce stress & anxiety and improve your brain’s ability to cope with future stressors.

When your body feels better, so does your mind!
