Kim Braun, PT, DPT. CACI, JSCC, CSC1.

Dr. Kim Braun PT, DPT is a doctor of physical therapy with over 30 years of experience. Dr. Braun is particularly passionate about infant care and the treatment and prevention of torticollis/plagiocephaly.  Kim treats all types of pain and dysfunction in her physical therapy practice.   She is excited about Counterstrain manual therapy to help when other interventions have failed.   Dr. Kim Braun earned her initial PT degree from University of Iowa and Doctor of Physical Therapy from, St Scholastic College. Committed to integrity, efficacy, compassion, excellence, and advocacy, Kim takes a holistic approach to patient care for rehabilitation, prevention, and wellness.

She has undertaken extensive post graduate study of the Fascial  Counterstrain manual therapy approach through the Jones Institute and Brian Tuckey, PT, OCS, JSCCI.  Dr. Braun has continued training in the Mastery Program (intro to fascial counterstrain & cranial scan, venous/lymphatics, nervous system 1, arterial system, & visceral system) with Timothy J. Hodges, LMT, JSCCI  through the Counterstrain Academy.

A DIFFERENT APPROACH

Each body is unique with stress patterns that are uniquely yours. Dr. Braun takes a holistic approach and treats/coaches you on every aspect of your unique health needs.  

If your problems haven't resolved with traditional medical and therapy interventions, looking at the interactions of the tissue throughout the whole body with special emphasis on the fascia is a new and exciting intervention that compliments traditional PT and alternative healthcare.

Dr. Braun's main tools for assessing your condition will include the cranial fascial counterstrain scan, craniosacral therapy, review of medications, pain rating, range of motion, strength, balance, review of diet/nutrition, vital signs, digestive health and overall function. Treatments consists of manual therapy to address the roots of your problems, education, exercise, and function.

INITIAL EVALUATION & TREATMENT:  90 - 120 MINUTES
Wear comfortable and move able clothes (no jeans)

Fill out consent and new client paperwork prior to your visit and bring paperwork with you.

An interview and baseline assessment of your condition, functional limitations, and goals are integral to the evaluation process. This is a collaborative process. 

Treatment plan is discussed and set in motion. You must be willing to commit to a 4 treatment follow-up process for optimal results.

However, not all conditions require 4 treatments. Acute cases can require less and chronic cases can require more interventions.

INFANT EVALUATION/TREATMENT

Initial Evaluations are 60 minutes and follow-up treatments are 30 or 60 minutes. Manual therapy is most effective if baby is tired, sleeping,or nursing. Schedule accordingly.
